Welcome New Summer Members

Let’s welcome Jillian, Joseph, Sandaru and Sofia as 2025 summer research interns in our lab!

Jillian Zoe Tabak is a rising sophomore in Mechancial Engineering. She will be working on Additive Friction Stir Deposition and supported by McCormick Summer Research Award.

Joseph Mongane is a rising sophomore in Applied Math and Mechanical Engineering. He will be working on precision piezo-actuated tool design and supported by Northwestern Summer Internship Grant Program (SIGP).

Sandaru Balahewa is a rising sophomore in Mechanical Engineering. He will be working on personalized PCA analysis for acoustic emission in directed energy deposition. He will be supported by Northwestern Summer Undergraduate Research Grant (SURG).

Sofia Chen is graduating from Loyala Academy. She will be working on smart manufacturing leveraging LLM.
