Malachi Presents Collaborative Research at IROS 2024 in Dubai

His paper, titled "Image to Patterning Density-Specified Patterning of Microstructured Surfaces with a Mobile Robot," showcases cutting-edge advancements in robotic surface patterning. Worker Fatigue Monitoring
Our joint work with Profs. Qi Zhu, John Rogers, and Jian Cao on Wearable network for multilevel physical fatigue prediction in manufacturing workers" has been online in PNAS Nexus. The work has also been featured in AAAS EurekAlert! and Popular Science.

Malachi Landis wins DOD (ARO) NDSEG Fellowship!
Our PhD student, Malachi Landis, has been awarded Department of Defense's (ARO) National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship. He is working on a project, "An Orbital-LINSI motion, Wire-fed Implementation of Additive Friction Stir Deposition and Corresponding Open-source Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics Simulation". World Congress on Micro and Nano Manufacturing
On September 18-21, 2023, Northwestern hosted the conference - World Congress on Micro and Nano Manufacturing. Prof. Guo, Yaoke Wang, Kojo Welbeck, Yahui Zhang, and Malachi Landis attended the conference. Yaoke Wang presented "Immersed Electrohydrodynamic Direct-Writing As an Advance Fabrication Method for Fiber-Reinforced Polymer Composites." Yahui Zhang presented "Geometric Photometric Stereo Networks Enabling Normal and Depth Estimation for Smart Metrology." Malachi Landis "Large-Scale Surface Micro-structuring by Ergodic Control a Mobile Robot."

Hiking in Starved Rock Park
We went for group hiking in Starved Rock Park. It was humid and hot. The "plumber" was taking a vacation as well, forgetting to turn on the water fall at French Canyon. We had a nice time!

Our Paper Won Best Paper in ISFA
Our paper "A Mass-Air Stiffness Model for Coupled Dynamics of Near Field Acoustic Levitation Bearing" was presented at the International Symposium on Flexible Automation and awarded the best paper - theory. Congratulations to Yaoke Wang!
